This class explored how the public understands scientific information and how that knowledge can be used to influence real-world behavior. In a hands-on simulation format, our class focused on medical biohacking, with an emphasis on GLP-1 medications and their impact on lifestyle. Our goal was to better understand what the science says, how the public interprets it, and where possible misconceptions or gaps exist. Our small, collaborative class was divided into 4 rotating groups: Science, Behavioral Measurement, Outreach/Communications, and Policy. Students rotated between teams to help translate scientific research into real-world communication and action.
